Employee Rights in Dubai

Dubai is one of the places, where job seekers would come from around the world to earn money. With time Dubai has opened a big window of job opportunities and so most of the people are moving to Dubai. However, while moving to Dubai as an employee, you must know about the Labour Laws of Dubai. If you are a foreigner, you can always consult lawyers in Dubai to help you with managing your job.
As an employee in Dubai, make sure you have understood the employment contract completely. The contracts are made in Arabic and translated into English. If you don’t have enough command on any of the languages, then ask an employment lawyer to help you with it. It is important that the employment contract is written in Arabic, because if the contract is not written in Arabic, then it is useless and has no credibility. You need to check for every detail to be written correctly.
Secondly, no employer would ask you for visa charges, because the company who has hired you is responsible to bear your traveling expenses. If you want to add or clarify anything in the contract, do it before you sign it. Once, you have signed the contract, you cannot refuse the terms of the employment.
As an employee in Dubai, sometimes, labor exploitation is done by making them work for longer hours. If the working hours increase more than 8 – 10 working hours a day, that time is considered overtime, for which you are paid extra.
There is some compulsory benefit that is given to the employees, such as basic salary, accommodation or the allowance for the accommodation, and a round trip ticket to visit your home country, once a year. Other than that the employees also get annual leave after working in a company for a year, at least.
However, if you ever feel that your rights are being violated, you can always get legal help from the Labour lawyers in Dubai, as they are expert labor laws.
